The Somervell County Heritage Center is located in the Historic First National Bank Building, 100 N.E. Barnard Street, across from the County Courthouse in Glen Rose Texas. Business hours are: 9 to 5 Monday through Saturday.
The genealogy collection is American in focus with emphasis on the southern states. The local history collection includes books on Somervell County, its "parent" counties, surrounding counties, and general Texana. Photographs, maps, newspaper files (and clippings), varied county archival records, collections from prominent area families and local organizations may be found in the large and growing archive.
Local obituaries, index to birth and death records and U.S. Census for many Texas counties and much more are available. Computer workstations are available to to researchers to access CD ROM and internet resources. You can submit queries by going to our "Feedback Page"
